Railroad
In the early 19th century Devils Lake was chosen for a train station connecting St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Manitoba railroads and later became a division terminal of the Great Northern Railway. Today, the Amtrak Station located in the heart of downtown Devils Lake has an Amtrak coming daily along the Empire Builder route. The BNSF railroad connects both eastern and western parts of the country, bringing in materials and sending out finished goods for sale. The Burlington Northern line running through town provides easy access to the nearby Minot Intermodal Facility, allowing for excellent product distribution options.
