Devils Lake Public Schools has every learner in the forefront of all planning, from young learners entering Kindergarten to learners planning and making decisions for after high school. 

The exceptional teachers and staff continuously participate in professional development to educate themselves on strategies and learning tools to support all students in the classroom and online. Sweetwater Elementary School was recently recognized and honored as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2020 for its academic excellence. Amazing teaching and learning, collaboration, and communication between students, families and staff contribute to the honor.

Minnie H. Kindergarten Center

As a nurturing and safe environment, Minnie H. Kindergarten Center embraces children and introduces them to the classroom and learning together. Children flourish, celebrating individuality, creativity, and imagination, while developing lifelong friendships and a passion for learning.

Prairie View Elementary

Home to grades 1-4, Prairie View Elementary encompasses all learners in a respectful and safe learning environment. The invested teachers and staff provide a high-quality educational environment for all students, supporting them to become life-long learners. 

Sweetwater Elementary

National Blue Ribbon School Sweetwater Elementary empowers all students in grades 1-4 to be critical thinkers and make a positive impact in the world.

Central Middle School

Partnering with families and the community, the marvelous staff at Central Middle School ensures a strong learning environment for grades 5-8, educating all students academically, emotionally, and socially. The passionate teachers work with each student to achieve proficiency in reading and math. Additional programming to support all learners includes a Smart Lab and enrichment opportunities. 

Devils Lake High School

Devils Lake High School welcomes over 400 students in grades 9-12 to a learning environment filled with engaging opportunities, including a wide variety of courses, both dual-course and AP courses. Student participation is strong in both the athletic and fine arts programs. Students have the opportunity to participate in programs including band, choir, drama and speech. The athletic program offers an assortment of sports including cross country, swimming and diving, and hockey.

Lake Area Career and Technology Center

With a mission of “Learning tomorrow’s skills today,” the Lake Area Career and Technology Center (LACTC) offers programs for students with access to discover and develop personal career and technical educational opportunities. LACTC offers 12 different program areas, including Automotive Technology, Construction, Marketing, Health Careers, and Culinary Arts. 

Lake Region State College

Located near peaceful Devils Lake, Lake Region State College works with students to prepare them for next level career opportunities. The students are the heart of the college. The dedicated staff and faculty strives to create an environment where student voices are valued. Nationally accredited programs offered include Nursing, Automotive Technology and Fitness Trainer Technician. Programs and courses are flexible to meet each student’s goals, serving students wishing to begin the first half of a bachelor’s degree to students eager to enter the workforce in areas such as health care, business, and technology. 

North Dakota School for the Deaf

Established in 1890 by the North Dakota Constitution, the North Dakota School for the Deaf/Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers support and educational resources for persons of all ages with severe to profound hearing loss. The North Dakota School for the Deaf/Resource Center for Deaf and Hard of Hearing specializes in methods of instruction for hearing impared youth. A comprehensive academic program for all students includes collaborating with Devils Lake Public Schools with their hearing peers for part of the day.
