National Nonprofit Day is officially recognized on August 17, but Forward Devils Lake Economic Development (FDLED) wants to tip our hat to all of our incredible business organizations that work tirelessly to ensure our community grows to the benefit of all.

“We’re thrilled to work in close partnership with the nonprofits that care for our residents and business owners,” said FDLED executive director Brady Ash. “The resources they provide are invaluable, and their creative, problem-solving approaches epitomize what community spirit is all about.”

On PACE

One of those resources includes the Bank of North Dakota’s PACE Program. Designed to assist qualifying businesses that want to invest or create jobs in their community, the program allows for stakeholders to “buy down” the interest rate on the loan. Proceeds can then be used to buy real estate, equipment, and certain working capital requirements.

Recently, Woodland Resort tapped into the PACE Program to fund the development of The Shores, an event center catering to weddings, business meetings, and other events with a capacity of 400.

“When a PACE or FlexPACE project is happening, there needs to be a community buydown partner,” said Ash. “Which, in this case, Forward Devils Lake had the opportunity to be.”

The Shores celebrated its grand opening in June and is now available for bookings.
